City’s relentless title march to continue against Chelsea

On Sunday afternoon, Premier League leaders Manchester City host Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium, as the Citizens look to move one step closer to winning the title.

Manchester City have been truly formidable this season. Just one league defeat this season tells its own story. Pep Guardiola’s side are now 16 points ahead of second-place Manchester United, a lead that could widen this weekend given that the Red Devils do not play until Monday night at Crystal Palace.

The Citizens are unbeaten in their last five league games since their only league defeat of the season at Liverpool, a run that has seen Guardiola’s team pick up four wins and a draw. The home side have been prolific in that unbeaten run scoring at least twice in four of their last five league outings.

City have recorded wins in their last 13 league games at the Etihad Stadium, scoring at least twice in all of those victories. Chelsea will have to be at their best to prevent both of those statistics turning to 14.

Chelsea heads into this game outside of the top-four and desperately in need of a surprise away win. The Blues recent top-flight form has been poor, as they have lost three of their last four games in the Premier League.

Rather worrying for a usually solid Blues defence, they have also conceded at least two goals in each of those three defeats. The visitor’s away record in the Premier League is not much better either, as they have won just once in their last five games on their travels in the league, losing at Watford and Manchester United in their two away games.

The Blues recent away games have at least been entertaining with over 2.5 goals scored in their last four games on their travels.

Forebet predicts that Manchester City will continue their relentless march to the Premier League title, recording a victory in a high scoring encounter.
