West Ham Determined to Beat Arsenal One More Time This Season
4498

Just over a month ago since West Ham United defeated Arsenal in the Premier League, the two clash once again, so Forebet is here once more for all the data, trends, analysis and mathematics for this match.

Arsenal's four defeats this season saw two of those come in late December, as Tomas Soucek carries on his excellent goalscoring form with a first half goal before Konstantinos Mavropanos also netted for the club in the second 45.

Incredibly, Mikel Arteta’s men had 30 shots that day and 75% of the ball but never truly tested West Ham’s defence and Alphonse Areola in goal.

Despite the excellent win that day at the Emirates, however, West Ham have failed to win a single game since victory in north London.

This run started with a 0-0 draw at home to Brighton & Hove Albion before a 1-1 draw with Bristol City was met with the Hammers losing in a 1-0 loss in the replay to the Championship side.

David Moyes' side drew 2-2 with Sheffield United shortly after, as Maxwel Cornet and James Ward-Prowse got amongst the goals. Vladimir Coufal was also sent off that day but can now return after a one-match suspension.

The trends of failing to win in all competitions carried on for West Ham shortly afterwards in a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth, as Moyes’ men fell to 3-0 defeat away to Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend.

A poor run since last beating Arsenal in December now sees the London side in seventh and adrift of United by two points and behind the top four by 10.

What also summarises West Ham’s season well is how they've managed to score the same amount of goals they have conceded with 36 going in at either end.

Arsenal head into this game after a sensational home win over Liverpool, where Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard all scored a goal each. Gabriel did, however, get an own goal in that mat.

The Gunners are now behind Liverpool in the table by only two points and level with the champions Manchester City, although the latter has a game in hand to deal with.

What's more, with only one goal scored for Liverpool last weekend, the mathematics now sees Arsenal with only 22 goals scored, which is joint-best with the Reds.

Forebet predicts a win for Arsenal and under 2.5 goals.
