Fresh from what some have described as ‘the greatest comeback football has ever seen’, Barcelona return to domestic action on Sunday, as the Spanish champions visit relegation-threatened Deportivo La Coruna.

Barcelona, of course, produced a memorable 6-1 win over PSG on Wednesday night to progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League 6-5 on aggregate. The win kept their recent good form going, as Luis Enrique’s side seems to have turned the corner in La Liga as well.

The Catalan giants are currently top of the table, but only lead second-place Real Madrid by a point and the European champions have a game in hand. The visitors cannot afford to slip up in this clash, but on current form, a slip-up looks unlikely.

The visitors have won their last six La Liga games, scoring 24 goals in the process. They have drawn two of their last six away games in the league, but have won their other four in that run. Enrique’s side have won their last two games on the road in La Liga.

The home side are struggling at the wrong end of the Spanish top-flight in 17th place in the table. However, Pepe Mel’s side are five points clear of the relegation zone. A run of just one win in their last ten La Liga games has seen them dragged into the relegation fight, though.

Their home form at the Riazor Stadium has been decent in recent months, as Depor have lost just one of their last six home league games, but three of those games have finished in draws.

Deportivo have a poor recent record against the reigning champions, having failed to win any of the last 13 meetings with the men from Catalonia, suffering nine defeats in the process. Barcelona have also chalked up 43 goals in those 13 encounters.

Forebet predicts that Barcelona will continue their good form and title challenge with a win on Sunday.
