Liverpool’s form has taken a turn for the worse of late, as the Merseysider’s have now won just one of their last seven games in all competitions. That poor run of form will be put to the test when the Reds host Championship side Wolves at Anfield in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side do not head into this game in the best of spirits, after losing 1-0 against Southampton on Wednesday night in the EFL Cup semi-final second leg to exit the competition 2-0 on aggregate. The result was poor, but the performance will have been just as concerning for Klopp’s side.

The performance against Southampton the Reds seemed to lack energy, which is one of the key attributes needed in Klopp’s style of play. With that in mind, the German boss is likely to rotate his starting eleven in this clash.

In general, the Reds are strong at home, despite two straight home defeats and face a Wolves side that have been inconsistent of late. Paul Lambert’s side are 18th in the Championship table, seven points clear of the relegation zone.

One of their main strengths of late has been their defensive record, as the side from the Midlands have kept clean sheets in three of their last four matches. Lambert has attempted to make Wolves harder to beat, although they did suffer a 3-1 defeat at Norwich last time out.

The visitors have a poor record at Anfield, winning on just two of their last 11 trips to the famous old ground and suffering nine defeats in the process. Wolves have also conceded two or more goals in their last three games against the Reds, suffering three defeats.

Liverpool’s form has been poor of late, but they should have enough quality to see off a Wolves side whose main priority this season is staying in the Championship.
