Two of the in-form teams of Ligue One met on Sunday night as second-place Monaco host fourth-place Monaco.

Monaco are currently breathing down the neck of league leaders Nice and have hit form of late. The team from the principality have won six of their last eight matches in the French top-flight and are also unbeaten in those games.

Leonardo Jardim’s team are unbeaten in their last 11 Ligue One games at the Stade Louis, recording victories in their last seven league games on home soil.

They have also been highly prolific in front of goal in their recent home Ligue One games, scoring at least four goals in their last four home games in the French top-flight.

In fact, Monaco are the highest scorers in the French top-flight, scoring 52 goals this season, a massive 21 more goals than leaders Nice and PSG, who are the next highest scorers with 32 goals. However, Jardim’s team have not kept a clean sheet in their last three home games in Ligue One.

Lyon have enjoyed a good campaign under Bruno Genesio and currently sit fourth in the French top-flight table. However, the visitors are 11 points behind their opponents. Lyon have been in decent form of late, having won five of their last six games in the French top-flight.

Last time out Genisio’s team recorded a 1-0 home win against Rennes. The visitors have won their last three away games in Ligue One, keeping clean sheets in their last two away outings in the top-flight.

That good recent away record faces a stern test in the principality, as there is not at a more difficult ground to visit in France at the moment than the Stade Louis.

Forebet predicts a home win for Monaco, but this game will not be an easy one for the men from the principality, as Lyon are in good form and should present a big challenge for the home side.
