Real Madrid can defeat Dortmund

In one of the games of the Champions League’s week six, European champions Real Madrid host German side Borussia Dortmund at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night.

The hosts are enjoying a spell campaign but currently sit second in the group trailing Dortmund by two points. Zinedine Zidane’s side have won three and drawn two of their group games, so to finish top the Spanish giants will have to win this clash.

The reverse fixture finished 2-2, but the in-form Spanish side will be confident of recording a win in this one. Last time out Los Blancos drew 1-1 at arch-rivals Barcelona, in a game that ended a winning run of five games.

The team from the Spanish capital have lost just one of their last 19 outings in the Champions League. In fact, Zidane’s team have won their last eight home games in Europe’s elite competition. The European champions have also kept six clean sheets in their last eight home games in the competition, also scoring at least two goals in six of their eight outings.

Dortmund have not been enjoying the best of times of late, having picked up just two wins from their last five outings in all competitions. BVB’s Champions League displays have been the highlight of a disappointing campaign so far, as the German side have won four and drew one of their games in Europe’s elite competition.

Thomas Tuchel’s side certainly have the talent to trouble Real Madrid on a good day and only need a point to top the group. One key factor in this game could be the fact that Los Blancos have won three of their last four meetings with Dortmund on home soil.
