On Wednesday night Manchester United host West Ham for the second time in the space of four days, as the Red Devils welcome the Hammers for the EFL Cup quarter-final.

The two teams met on Sunday at Old Trafford in the Premier League and produced a 1-1 draw. Neither side are in great form, but the home side will still be expected to win this clash and progress into the last four of the competition.

United have now drawn three of their last four home games in all competitions and remain frustratingly inconsistent.

Their recent home games have been low-scoring with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five outings on home soil in all competitions. The Red Devils are currently unbeaten in their last nine games at Old Trafford in all competitions.

Manchester United boss Slaven Bilic has criticised this competition in the past and is likely to rotate his squad in this clash, so some of his fringes players may well get a run out in this fixture.

West Ham’s recent form has been poor and the Hammers have not won since beating Chelsea in this competition in the last round (four games). The Irons have also beaten Accrington Stanley in this competition this season.

Despite the prospect of a semi-final, it remains to be seen if Hammers boss Slaven Bilic will rotate his squad ahead of the clash. The Londoners main priority is to move up the Premier League table, as they are currently 16th and just one point clear of the drop zone.

Both teams could have done without this game in midweek with big Premier League games at the weekend. However, Forebet predicts a home win, which would come as a massive relief to everybody connected with Manchester United Football Club.
