Leicester to keep European fairy-tale going against Brugge

English champions Leicester City can put their domestic struggles for one-side on Tuesday night, as the Foxes welcome Belgian outfit Club Brugge to the King Power Stadium.

While Claudio Ranieri’s team are struggling in the Premier League, their European form has been very impressive. The side from the Midlands have all but qualified for the knockout stages, but a win in this clash would almost certainly see Ranieri’s side finish top of the group.

The Foxes have won three and drawn one of their Champions League group games, without conceding a goal. Some regarded them as outsiders to qualify for the last-16, but they have proven all their doubters wrong.

There is a cloud over the English champions at the moment, as they have failed to win any of their last four games and suffered consecutive defeats. Leicester’s form may be worrying, but the visitor’s record in this competition is woeful.

The Belgian side have lost all four of their group games, conceding ten goals and scoring just once in the process. Club Brugge are not in the greatest form, as they have won just one of their last four outings in all competitions.

The visitors have been involved in a number of low-scoring outings of late, with under 2.5 goals scored in their last four games. No doubt they will be heading to the Midlands in less than buoyant mood considering their performance so far in this competition this season.

Leicester will have to raise their performances from those of recent weeks. However, the Foxes seem to have raised their game for their Champions League games this season and are likely to do so again with the carrot of winning the group dangling in front of them.

Forebet predicts a Leicester win, and despite the Foxes current poor form it is hard to argue with that assessment of this game.
