Ronaldo expected to lead his team to a win tonight

The 2016 European Championships are well underway. Already we have seen some exciting football and great goals. On Tuesday the four teams in Group F will play their opening fixtures. The ties throw up two fascinating contests and some different tactical approaches.

Tuesday's second tie sees Fernando Santos's Portugal take on tounament debutants Iceland. Portugal topped their qualifying group and are favourites to do the same in Group F. Santos's side will be looking to start with a win, but should be wary of underestimating their opponents.

Iceland conceded just six goals in qualification and are defensively very solid. They defeated bigger teams like Holland and Turkey on their path to the finals. Portugal can be guilty of relying to much on star player Cristiano Ronaldo. The Real Madrid attacker has fifty-six international goals and was top-scorer for his country in qualification. He is frequently the catylist for his side, but when he doesn't perform, his team often struggle too.

Undoubtedly, Ronaldo will be keen to once again pull out a great performance. His motivation and pure determination for success should affect his teammates to give the best they have.

Key players to watch are Portugal's Bruno Alves - one of the best young defender's in the world and 18-year-old wonderkid Renato Sanches who is likely to be used as an impact super-sub for his team. Iceland have star playmaker and qualifying top-scorer Gylfi Sigurdsson who has scored a goal every three games for his country. He is also a free-kick specialist.

Iceland are well-organised and defensively strong. This should be a tight game, but Portugal should have enough creativity to win.
