Barcelona will be looking to halt Real Betis’ unbeaten streak on home soil in La Liga when they travel to Andalusia on Sunday.

Trends show that Manuel Pellegrini’s men have avoided defeat in each of their last 11 league games at the Estadio Benito Villamarin, although Barca boast an impressive record in Betis’ backyard.

Ahead of the weekend’s action, seventh-placed Betis trail fourth-placed Barca by 10 points, although Xavi’s side have a game in hand.

Real Betis claimed a 1-0 victory over Granada last time out, with Isco converting one of the hosts’ 25 shots against the relegation strugglers.

The stats looked bleak for Pellegrini’s side before last weekend’s triumph, as they had chalked up a six-game winless run across all competitions.

In La Liga, however, Betis have lost just one of their previous 15 matches, with only Real Madrid, Girona and Barcelona suffering fewer defeats in 2023-24.

Thanks to an 11-game unbeaten streak on home soil, Pellegrini’s men will be hopeful of swinging the probability in their favour when Barca come to town.

On Thursday, Barcelona survived a scare to book their place in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals, coming from behind to beat third-tier outfit Unionistas 3-1.

Despite racking up 75% possession and 14 shots on the night, Xavi’s men need two second-half goals to turn the tide and advance to the next round.

Thanks to that victory, Barca have now won five of their previous six matches across all competitions, scoring 14 goals in the process.

The mathematics reveal that Barcelona have averaged 2.3 goals per game in their last six outings, and they will be eager to maintain that record this weekend.

Head-to-head: After thrashing Betis 4-0 at the end of last season, Barcelona crushed Pellegrini’s side 5-0 at the beginning of the current campaign.

Our analysis also shows that Barca have avoided defeat in each of their previous 12 away games against Real Betis, making it difficult to predict a home win on Sunday.

Team news: Real Betis are currently without AFCON trio, Abde Ezzalzouli, Chadi Riad and Youssouf Sabaly, while Marc Bartra, William Carvalho, Juan Miranda and Guido Rodriguez are injured.

On the flip side, Barcelona’s injury list features Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Raphinha, Gavi, Joao Cancelo, Marcos Alonso and Inigo Martinez.

Although Betis boast a strong home record, Barca have enjoyed plenty of success at the Estadio Benito Villamarin in recent times.

Accordingly, Forebet’s algorithm predicts that Real Betis and Barcelona will share the spoils this weekend, with both teams scoring over 1.5 goals.
