Fiorentina won their last three Serie A games and will restart the season in round No. 19 in fantastic form. La Viola are fourth in the division and just three points off third-place AC Milan.

On Saturday, Fiorentina will travel to the Mapei Stadium to face off with Sassuolo.

Fiorentina won just one of their last three Serie A games away to Sassuolo. It is a run of results Fiorentina want to change.

Sassuolo are struggling this season and are in 16th place ahead of Fiorentina’s arrival.

The Neroverdi failed to win any of their last five Serie A games. Each of Sassuolo’s last two league matches ended in defeat.

Making matters worse for coach Alessio Dionisi is the club’s midweek Coppa Italia 3-1 defeat to Atalanta.

Confidence is surely low in the Sassuolo side ahead of round No. 19. Just two points separate Sassuolo from the relegation zone.

Fiorentina did the league double over Sassuolo in 2022-23. A 2-1 win at the Stadio Artemio Franchi was followed by a 3-1 victory at the Mapei Stadium.

The last six games between these clubs featured 39 yellow cards and two red cards. Matches between them can be fiery.

Sassuolo have been abysmal at home this season, posting a record of 2W-2D-5L and a goal difference of -3. They lost their last two games at the Mapei Stadium.

Fiorentina have played well on the road but are currently struggling for positive results.

The team has a record of 4W-2D-3L away from home, but they won just one of their last four road fixtures.

However, La Viola are playing good football in the defensive third. They kept a clean sheet in each of their last three Serie A matches.

Fiorentina forwards Riccardo Sottil and Nico Gonzalez are both unlikely to play due to muscle injuries, respectively.

Defender Dodo remains out with an ACL injury. Midfielder Gaetano Gastrovilli is a doubt following an Achilles tendon injury.

Dionisi could be without three midfielders due to injuries. Daniel Boloca, Uros Racic, and Pedro Obiang are all nursing injuries that could keep them out of Saturday’s game.

Forward Gregoire Defrel and defender Matias Vina are also likely to miss the match thanks to injuries.

Fiorentina did the double over Sassuolo last season and will go into Saturday’s match in fine form. La Viola should post a fourth straight Serie A win with a 2-1 victory over the Neroverdi.
