Can you believe it? Gameweek 3 of the 2022/23 Fantasy Premier League season is already upon us. With the GW3 deadline set for 11:00 (BST) on Saturday, August 20, it’s time to start thinking about your moves.

Before we go over the best FPL players for Gameweek 3, let’s take a look at the fixtures.

  • Tottenham vs. Wolves
  • Everton vs. Nottm Forest
  • Leicester vs. Southampton
  • Fulham vs. Brentford
  • Crystal Palace vs. Aston Villa
  • Bournemouth vs. Arsenal
  • West Ham vs. Brighton
  • Leeds vs. Chelsea
  • Newcastle vs. Man City
  • Man Utd vs. Liverpool

Arsenal, Everton and Fulham all have favorable fixtures this weekend, while Chelsea, Crystal Palace Leicester, Tottenham and West Ham will also be confident of dispatching their respective opponents.

Man City face a potentially tricky away trip to Newcastle before Liverpool face Man Utd at Old Trafford. Can Jurgen Klopp’s side head more misery on the Red Devils?

It’s time to check out the best players for FPL Gameweek 3.

Goalkeepers

Dean Henderson (Nottm Forest) and Jose Sa (Wolves) are the highest scoring goalkeepers so far. Henderson kept a clean sheet and saved a penalty last weekend, while Sa achieved a shutout of his own.

Nick Pope (Newcastle), Ederson (Man City) and Robert Sanchez (Brighton) are the only other keepers who have reached double figures in terms of FPL points. With low-scoring Wolves up next, Hugo Lloris (Tottenham) is bound to be a popular pick.

Defenders

Ben Mee (Brentford) and Joao Cancelo (Man City) were the top scoring defender in Gameweek 2, picking up 14 and 11 points, respectively. Reece James (Chelsea) and Kalidou Koulibaly (Chelsea) both scored against Spurs.

Tottenham (51%), Arsenal (50%) and Man City (46%) have the best clean sheet odds for Matchday 3. Therefore, Ivan Perisic (Tottenham), Oleksandr Zinchenko (Arsenal) and Kyle Walker (Man City) are all great picks.

Midfielders

Rodrigo (Leeds) is the highest scoring player in the entire game, having amassed 22 FPL points thanks to three goals in two games. Kevin De Bruyne (Man City) is hot on his heels, though, with 20 points under his belt.

Pascal Gross (Brighton), Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal) and Dejan Kulusevki (Tottenham) are also worth considering. Oh, and let’s not forget that Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) loves playing against Man Utd!

Forwards

Price at just £8.0m, Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal) is undoubtedly the best value forward in FPL right now. The Brazilian already has two goals and two assists to his name, seeing him collect 21 points.

Other notable forwards for Gameweek 3 include Erling Haaland (Man City), Harry Kane (Tottenham), Ivan Toney (Brentford), Aleksandar Mitrovic (Fulham) and Danny Welbeck (Brighton).
