Newcastle Looking to Officially Relegate Sheffield United This Weekend
1430

Newcastle United are still clinging onto a slight bit of hope of a European finish when they play hosts to Sheffield United and Forebet has grouped together the latest data and mathematics to find out the probability of a win.

The football predictions all season long have been against Sheffield United, who despite taking the lead twice at Old Trafford during the week, lost yet again and conceded over 2.5 goals for a record-breaking time.

In fact, with the four goals in the 4-2 loss against Manchester United seeing Sheffield United now concede 92 goals, they are officially the worst-ever defensive team in Premier League history, surpassing Derby County's record of 88 goals on Wednesday.

In truth, the Blades are likely to become the first-ever team in English top flight history to concede more than 100 goals in a league season.

The goals going in mean Sheffield United have also scored just 33 of their own, which is also the worst in the league this season.

The club are now adrift of Nottingham Forest in 17th by 10 points, and it does look as if they will be relegated next week.

They can officially be relegated this weekend, should Forest win their game and the Blades lose here.

Sheffield United also lost to fellow relegation rivals Burnley 4-1 at Bramall Lane last weekend, and given how Burnley are likely to be relegated too, this all but sums up how poor they've been this season.

Chris Wilders' men also have Forest to play next week, which could be the season-defining moment for them.

One of these awful results throughout this record-breaking campaign for Sheffield United was a stunning 8-0 loss at home to Newcastle where eight different goalscorers got in on the act, as Sean Longstaff, Dan Burn, Sven Botman, Miguel Almiron, Callum Wilson, Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak all scored.

Newcastle are coming into this one after another defeat, however, as Crystal Palace eased to a 2-0 win at Selhurst Park.

Newcastle did beat Tottenham Hotspur in their last home game, as Isak netted another brace to keep up his hopes of a Premier League Golden boot - Gordon and Fabian Schar got the other two goals.

Newcastle are now behind Tottenham Hotspur by 10 points in the race for Europe, but they are only three behind Manchester United in sixth. Forebet now predicts a win for Newcastle and over 2.5 goals in the game.
