The top two in the Bundesliga go head-to-head on Friday night as Bayern Munich welcome Bayer Leverkusen to the Allianz Arena.

Both sides have won all three of their league games this season, meaning they find themselves three points clear at the summit of the table.

However, Bayer Leverkusen lead Bayern Munich on goal difference, having scored 11 goals while conceding on just three occasions.

Bayern Munich kicked off their Bundesliga campaign with a 4-0 thrashing of Werder Bremen, with Leroy Sane bagging a brace in the rout.

Harry Kane was at the double as Bayern defeated Augsburg 3-1 in their second game before Thomas Tuchel’s men claimed a 2-1 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach.

Remarkably, Bayern Munich have scored at least one goal in each of their last 30 Bundesliga matches, underlining their attacking prowess.

It is also worth noting that each of Bayern’s previous eight games have produced over 2.5 goals, meaning Friday’s clash will likely be a high-scoring encounter.

As for Bayer Leverkusen, they claimed a 3-2 victory over RB Leipzig on the opening weekend of the Bundesliga season, setting the tone for their campaign.

Following a 3-0 win against Borussia Monchengladbach in their second game, Leverkusen hammered Darmstadt 5-1 last time out, with Victor Boniface scoring twice.

Having netted 11 goals in three league games this season (3.7 goals per game), Bayer Leverkusen are the joint-top scorers in the Bundesliga.

Thanks to a strong end to the previous campaign, Xabi Alonso’s side have lost just three of their last 24 encounters across all competitions.

Head-to-head: It is worth noting that Leverkusen have managed to win just six of their previous 37 league meetings with Bayern.

That said, Alonso’s men can take confidence from the fact that they claimed a 2-1 victory over the champions back in March.

Team news: Bayern Munich are still without long-term injury absentee Manuel Meuer, while Tarek Buchmann, Raphael Guerreiro and Gabriel Marusic are also sidelined.

Leverkusen will be without injured pair Arthur and Patrik Schick on Friday, while Timothy-Fosu Mensah and Piero Hincapie are doubts.

Although Bayern Munich remain the dominant force in German football, Leverkusen appear to be closing the gap on the perennial champions.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that free-scoring Bayer Leverkusen will get the better of the Bavarians, combining for over 4.5 goals at the Allianz Arena.
