Will in-form Leganes heap more misery on winless Huesca?
1668

Spain’s Segunda Division continues throughout the international break, with Leganes entertaining Huesca at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque on Saturday.

With four matches in the books, Leganes find themselves third in the table – three points shy of first-placed Real Zaragoza – having already claimed three wins.

At the opposite end of the standings, Huesca sit fourth from bottom – one point clear of last-placed Oviedo – after failing to taste victory so far this season.

Leganes suffered a 1-0 defeat to Andorra on the opening weekend, but Borja Jimenez’s side have since secured three successive wins.

Following a 1-0 win against Alcoron, Leganes claimed a 2-0 victory over Albacete before defeating Eibar 1-0 last time out.

Not only have Leganes won three of their four games this season, but they have also kept three clean sheets, conceding a solitary goal in the process.

It is also worth noting that each of Leganes’ previous six league games have produced under 2.5 goals, suggesting that Saturday’s clash will be a low-scoring affair.

As for Huesca, they have failed to win any of their four league outings this term, although they have only suffered one defeat up to now.

After drawing 1-1 with Burgos on the opening weekend, Huesca suffered a 2-0 defeat against Tenerife before notching back-to-back draws with Racing and Mirandes.

Despite seeing just 35% possession, Huesca drew 1-1 with Mirandes last weekend, although Jorge Pulido’s second-half red card tarnished the result.

When you look at the bigger picture, Huesca have only managed to win four of their previous 27 Segunda Division encounters.

Head-to-head: Across the past nine meetings between Leganes and Huesca, both sides have picked up four wins, dishing up one draw in the process.

It is also worth remembering that only one of the previous 10 meetings between Leganes and Huesca has produced over 3.5 goals.

Team news: Leganes winger Dani Raba has netted two goals in four appearances this term, while Iker Undabarrena has bagged one goal and one assist.

Huesca, on the other hand, will be without the suspended Jorge Pulido on Saturday after he picked up a red card in last weekend’s draw with Mirandes.

When you couple Leganes’ strong form with Huesca’s poor record this season, all the signs point towards a home victory on Saturday.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Leganes will claim all three points on home soil, keeping another clean sheet for good measure.
