Leicester City and Southampton will both be looking for their first win of the Premier League season when they go head-to-head at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
With two games in the books, fifteenth-place Leicester and seventeenth-place Southampton both have a solitary point. However, the Foxes lead Saints thanks to their superior goal difference.
Can Brendan Rodgers’ boys kick-start their campaign in front of their home fans? Or will Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side spoil the party?
Leicester were held to a 2-2 draw by Brentford on the opening weekend. Despite finding themselves 2-0 up with 30 minutes remaining, they conceded two late goals.
On Matchday 2, the Foxes were thrashed 4-2 by Arsenal. A William Saliba own goal and a James Maddison strike gave them hope, but the Gunners were too strong.
That said, Leicester can take confidence from the fact that they have lost just one of their previous ten home matches in the Premier League.
Although Rodgers’ side have taken one point from a possible six so far, they will fancy their chances of securing all three points on Saturday.
As for Southampton, they suffered a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur on Matchday 1 – conceding a whopping 18 shots in north London.
Last time out, however, they came from 2-0 down to rescue a point against Leeds United. Joe Aribo instigated the comeback before Kyle Walker-Peters sealed the draw.
Still, it is worth pointing out that Southampton have lost each of their previous three away Premier League outings by at least three goals.
When you look at the bigger picture, Saints have only managed to win one of their last 14 league encounters.
Head-to-head: Leicester are currently enjoying a five-game unbeaten streak against Southampton in all competitions, having picked up three wins and two draws since their last loss.
Given that two of the last three Premier League meetings between Leicester and Southampton have ended in a draw, a tight game is on the cards this time around.
Team news: Leicester currently have three players out due to injury, with Ricardo Pereira, Ryan Bertrand and Harvey Barnes on the sidelines.
On the flip side, Southampton will be without the injured duo of Tino Livramento and Theo Walcott on Saturday.
Since Leicester and Southampton have both made a poor start to the season, both sides will be eager to avoid defeat this weekend.
With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Leicester and Southampton will play out a low-scoring draw at the King power Stadium.
