Dortmund and Leipzig shared the spoils in a thriller at Signal Iduna Park. Goals from Julian Weigl and Julian Brandt saw the home side lead at half-time. Hoffenheim ended their winless run by beating Union Berlin. The home side dominated large spells of the game, but Ihlas Bebou and Christoph Baumgartner both scored in the second half to snatch the points for the visitors.

Wednesday’s Action

Despite controlling proceedings, Leverkusen suffered defeat against Hertha. The home side bossed possession and had the lion’s share of the chances, but Karim Rekik’s strike of 64 minutes saw Hertha come away with all three points.

Monchengladbach join Leipzig at the top after overcoming Paderborn. Alassane Plea opened the scoring just after the break, before Lard Stindl wrapped up the game from the penalty spot.

Wolfsburg registered 29 shots against Schalke but could only manage a draw. Ozan Kabak put Schalke ahead early in the second half, but Kevin Mbabu rescued a point for Wolfsburg late on.

Bayern Munich left it very late to beat Freiburg. Vicenzo Grifo cancelled out Robert Lewandowski’s first-half effort, and the game looked to be heading for a draw. However, stoppage-time goals from substitute Joshua Zirkzee and Serge Gnabry saw Bayern steal the points in dramatic style.
