Jadon Sancho unlikely to be at Dortmund much longer

In the last season-and-a-bit talented young Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in the European game.

Despite producing impressive numbers for a player of just 19, the youngster's focus has been called into question by experienced BVB boss Lucien Favre.

It seems that Sancho is now unhappy at Dortmund after a number of unsettling incidents. One was when boss Favre decided to substitute the youngster in the 35th minute of a 4-0 defeat at arch-rivals Bayern Munich.

Reportedly, the youngster felt like the club has made him the scapegoat for the teams at time underwhelming performances this season. There are far more senior players in that squad who are not pulling their weight and it would be unfair to lay the blame for those results at the feet of the 19-year-old.

Meanwhile, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has come out in the press and aimed criticism at the youngster too. Sancho revealed after the 3-1 defeat at Barcelona in the Champions League that he was not allowed to talk to the media.

Favre had decided not to start with Sancho against the Catalan giants. By the time the winger came off the substitutes bench to score BVB’s goal, the German team were already three goals down. The reason for his omission from the starting eleven was that Favre thought the winger was not showing enough focus.

Sancho has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the beautiful game in the last 18 months or so. His performances have led to speculation that the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool have shown an interest in signing him.

Dortmund officials have also talked about the difficulty of keeping hold of Sancho in the future. The fact that it appears he is unsettled, combined with the reported major interest in his services means that the young winger is unlikely to be at the German club for much longer.
