It’s safe to say that Christopher Nkunku is one of the hottest properties in European football. With rumours about his future continuing to circulate, let’s look at where he could end up this summer.

Nkunku enjoyed a phenomenal 2021-22 campaign with RB Leipzig, bagging a whopping 35 goals and 20 assists in 51 appearances across all competitions.

In the Bundesliga, only three players – Robert Lewandowski, Patrik Schick and Erling Haaland – scored more goals than Nkunku’s 20 last season.

Meanwhile, only two players – Thomas Muller and Marco Reus – chalked up more assists than Nkunku’s 15.

As a result, the highly-rated Frenchman notched the second-most goal involvements in Germany’s top tier. It’s no wonder that he is one of the most sought-after players on the planet right now!

Chelsea are reportedly interested in acquiring Nkunku’s services. Backed by new owners, the Blues could spend big this summer in an attempt to close the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool.

The London club already have a host of talented attacking players. However, with Romelu Lukaku’s future in doubt, they could be looking to add more goals next season.

Manchester United are another club who are rumoured to be tracking Nkunku. With a new manager in the Old Trafford hot seat, there is bound to be plenty of change during the off-season.

Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t getting any younger, while Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford flattered to deceive last term.

Then there’s Bayern Munich. Although the German champions are reportedly on the verge of signing Sadio Mane from Liverpool, they are no strangers to snatching the Bundesliga’s top players.

With Kylian Mbappe staying in Paris and Erling Haaland joining Man City, Real Madrid are likely to be in the market for another forward. Could Nkunku move to La Liga?

At the end of the day, the 24-year-old will not be short of options this summer. He has proved himself in at Leipzig, but it now feels like it’s time for him to join an elite club.

Nkunku has racked up 47 goals and 47 assists in 135 games since moving from PSG to Leipzig in 2019, highlighting his ability to both score and create goals.

Having registered a mammoth 55 goal involvements in 51 games last season, it is surely only a matter of time before the elite clubs come calling.
