Georginio Wijnaldum likely for big move this summer

Newcastle’s Dutch playmaker Georginio Wijnaldum has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League. The likes of Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham are reported to be interested in the former-PSV Eindhoven star.

The Netherlands international is believed to be rated at £25million by the Magpies. The club from the north east were relegated from the Premier League last season.

It seems unlikely that Wijnaldum will be playing in the Championship next season. The 25-year-old enjoyed a decent debut campaign in the English top-flight last season scoring 11 times and producing five assists.

However, his form dropped off towards the end of the campaign. The versatile attacking midfielder produced just two goals and two assists in his last 15 appearances in the top-flight. His form earlier in the campaign for the northeast was enough to impress a number of high-profile Premier League clubs.

Everton are reported to have a big transfer kitty for which Ronald Koeman to strengthen his squad this summer. The Dutchman has yet to splash the cash and the Toffees have emerged as one of the favourites to sign the mercurial playmaker.

Liverpool have already strengthened their attacking midfield options by paying Southampton £34million for Senegalese winger Sadio Mane. It seems unlikely that Jurgen Klopp’s side will spend the mooted fee on another attacking midfielder with other areas of the team in need of strengthening.

Tottenham have been busy strengthening their squad with the signings of Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen. A move to White Hart Lane for the Dutchman is not unrealistic.

Its seems that despite a disappointing end to the campaign the Dutchman is still in-demand and will more than likely be plying his trade in the Premier League again next season.
