Diego Costa's Excellent Life in the Premier League Ahead of His Wolves Debut

Diego Costa has become a bit of an enigma in recent years. The former Chelsea man has managed to secure titles across Europe and back in Brazil, and he is now back in the Premier League after five years away from the division.

Goals, Goals, Goals
Costa joined Chelsea back in 2014 after a stunning year with Atletico Madrid that saw him net 27 goals in 35 games, secure the La Liga title, and lose the Champions League final in brutal fashion to Real Madrid.
In his first year in the Premier League, it couldn’t have gone much better under Jose Mourinho. Costa netted 20 times on his way to touching the Premier League trophy, and considering he played only 26 league games, it’s fair to say he could have managed to get closer to 30 league goals if he had been fit.
A much weaker impact came in the following year with just 12 goals from 28 games, but with another 20 from 35 Premier League outings in his third and final season at Stamford Bridge, Costa bagged himself another Premier League medal and scored the same amount of goals as Sergio Aguero, who outscored his 20 goals two seasons prior to win the Golden Boot.
The Spain international was sensational in England last time out. His physical nature and goalscoring prowess works wonders in this league, and this is exactly what Wolves have been missing.
A Bad Attitude
The main thing people take away from the enigma of Costa is his attitude. A fallout with Conte all but ended his time at Chelsea quite prematurely, as he helped guide them to two league titles. A similar situation occurred back at Atletico Madrid, and let’s also not forget how he changed allegiance from Brazil to Spain after two games with the country he was born in.
At Wolves, he will be able to speak the dominant language that flows through the ground, Portuguese. At the same time, Costa will be one of the senior players in the team with Wolves having a lot of players under the age of 25.
Bruno Lage will be hoping he has since matured after leaving Chelsea five years ago, but if his time back at Atletico and his topsy-turvy nature with the fans in Brazil is anything to go by since, Costa likely hasn’t changed a bit.
