With the start of the 2021/22 Premier League season less than a month away, it’s time to take a look at the rising stars who are destined to establish themselves in England’s top-flight.

Young guns like Phil Foden, Pedro Neto, Bukayo Saka and Ferran Torres enjoyed hugely successful 2020/21 campaigns, but who could emulate their heroics this time around?

• Dane Scarlett – Tottenham Hotspur

The 17-year-old made one Premier League appearance last season, along with a couple of Europa League outings. If his record in the U18 Premier League is anything to go by, he should be given more game time by new Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

Scarlett bagged 17 goals and four assists in 16 U18 Premier League games last term, as well as three goals in five Premier League 2 matches. Having also notched five goals in three FA Youth Cup appearances, he is destined to feature more prominently in the coming months.

• Liam Delap – Manchester City

Delap will be hoping to add to his sole Premier League appearance during the upcoming campaign. The 18-year-old striker came off the bench against Leicester last term and was also an unused substitute on five occasions.

In the Premier League 2, however, the young forward stole the show. He racked up 24 goals and five assists in 20 appearances, finishing the previous campaign with a phenomenal 30 goals and six assists in 27 games in all competitions.

• Joao Pedro – Watford

It’s fair to say that Joao Pedro initially struggled to adapt to the demands of the Premier League, making just three appearances during the second half of the 2019/20 season. But following Watford’s relegation, the Brazilian lit up the Championship last term.

The 19-year-old chalked up nine goals and three assists in 38 second-tier outings last season, helping the Hornets secure automatic promotion back to the top-flight at the first time of asking. He will now be hoping to pick up where he left off in the Championship.

• Amad Diallo – Manchester United

After bagging 13 goals and 15 assists in 46 matches for Atalanta Primavera, it was clear that Diallo was a special talent. With only five first-team appearances to his name, the Ivorian winger was signed by Manchester United for £19 million back in January.

With four goals and three assists coming in his first three Premier League 2 games, Diallo was swiftly drafted into Man Utd’s first team. Following an eye-catching end to the previous campaign, the teenage sensation is set to play a bigger role for the Red Devils in the upcoming season.

• Careny Chukwuemeka – Aston Villa

At just 17, Chukwuemeka has already clocked up a whopping 49 appearances in all competitions – notching 11 goals and 11 assists along the way. Needless to say, the Aston Villa young gun has a big future ahead of him.

Dean Smith handed the midfield prodigy a couple of substitute appearances in the final two Premier League games of last season. With a handful of England U17 and U18 caps under his belt already, Chukwuemeka is destined to enjoy a breakout 2021/22 campaign.
