West Ham to keep European qualification hopes alive against West Brom
2438

West Ham have hit a dip in form at the wrong time of the campaign. David Moyes’ team have won just once in their last four games and fallen to seventh in the league.

The Hammers are level on 59 points with Tottenham Hotspur with two games left to play. The fifth and sixth place positions allow teams in the league to qualify for the Europa League.

If West Hamf can finish in seventh, they will qualify for the new Europa Conference League tournament for next term.

West Brom will not play in Europe next season nor will they play in the Premier League. The Baggies will go down to the Championship to play in 2021-22.

They are on a five-match winless streak in the league. Three of those games ended in losses including their last two fixtures.

West Ham claimed a 2-1 win against West Bromwich earlier this season at the London Stadium. Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio scored on either side of a Matheus Pereira strike. Antonio goes into the game with nine goals this season.

Moyes has just two players on the injury list ahead of the penultimate game of the campaign. Defender Arthur Masuaku has a knee injury that may keep him out of action. Attacking midfielder Manuel Lanzini is also a doubt for the fixture.

Sam Allardyce also has two player injuries going into the game on matchday 37. Defender Branislav Ivanovic is ruled out of the game and likely to miss the final day as well. Midfielder Robert Snodgrass is also ruled out due to a lower back injury.

West Ham are not in form and took just seven points from the last 18 available to them. The team’s dip in form has coincided with Jesse Lingard’s cooling off.

He has nine goals since arriving from Manchester United in January but has not scored in four straight matches.

West Brom took five points from the last 18 available to them. They were outscored 11-8 over the course of the six fixtures. The Baggies are coming off of a late 2-1 loss to Liverpool thanks to a goal from Alisson Becker at the death.

They played well against the Reds and should play strongly versus West Ham. However, West Ham need to win this game to improve their hopes of making next season’s Europa League.

The Hammers should win in a competitive match with both sides finding the back of the net and over 2.5 goals.
