Atalanta and Juventus will contest the Coppa Italian 2021 Final in May, but before we get to the cup match, the two rivals will meet on Sunday in Bergamo in a Serie A top-four clash.

The Bergamo-based club are fourth in Serie A going into matchday 31. Gian Piero Gasperini’s team are on a four-game winning streak and have taken 61 points from 90 on offer.

Juventus are third in the league as their grip on the Scudetto over the last nine seasons has been broken by Inter Milan. The Old Lady are 12 points back of the Nerazzurri with eight games left to play.

Going into the weekend, Juventus are just one point ahead of Atalanta in the race for Champions League qualification. Just three points have Juventus ahead of fifth-place Napoli.

To say Andrea Pirlo’s first year as coach hasn’t gone to plan would be an understatement.

Juventus are not a balanced team with everything centred around Cristiano Ronaldo. Moreover, a lack of focus in the transfer window has damaged Juventus’s hopes of both lifting another Scudetto and winning the Champions League.

Atalanta went to Turin earlier this season and claimed a come from behind 1-1 draw against Juventus. Federico Chiesa scored in the first half but Remo Freuler’s second half goal cancelled out the advantage Juventus had.

Three of the last four games between Atalanta and Juventus in Serie A finished as score draws. La Dea are Serie A’s highest scoring team with 71 goals in 30 games. They average 2.4 goals per match in the league.

Juventus have tallied 61 goals, the fourth-most in Serie A. The game should see both sides find the back of the net and it is likely to have over 2.5 goals as well.

Atalanta are on a four-game winning streak and will be difficult to defeat. A win would send them into third and Juventus into fourth.

If Napoli win their game against Inter Milan on Sunday night, they could move into fourth with Juventus falling to fifth.

Gasperini will be without Gabriel Romero and Hans Hateboer. The former is suspended while the latter remains sidelined with an injury.

Only Federico Bernardeschi is likely to miss the game for Juventus. He recently tested positive for COVID-19.

The big player news ahead of the game surrounding Juventus is the cry from fans to sell Ronaldo. The club are under fire due to their reliance on the former Real Madrid man.

Three of the last four games between the clubs in Serie A ended in draws. Sunday’s game in Bergamo should be another stalemate between the sides.

Both should score with over 2.5 goals tallied in a thrilling top four Serie A clash.
