Man City set to edge closer to glory with victory over Leeds

Manchester City will aim to take one step closer towards the Premier League title when Leeds United visit the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Peo Guardiola’s side are 14 points clear of second-place Manchester United and a whopping 32 points ahead of Leeds.

Meanwhile, Leeds currently find themselves in eleventh place – level with tenth-place Arsenal on 42 points.

Man City head into Saturday’s match on the back of a 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Guardiola's men enjoyed 62% possession against Dortmund, with Phil Foden scoring the winning goal on 90 minutes.

City have now won each of their previous six games in all competitions and have only lost one of their last 35 outings.

Not only are Manchester City the top scorers in the Premier League (66), but they also boast the best defensive record in the division (21).

With an eye-catching goal difference of +45, it is only matter of time before Guardiola and co. get their hands on the Premier League trophy.

Following promotion from the Championship last year, Leeds United can be proud of their efforts this season.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are clear of relegation trouble and will now be looking to secure a top-half finish top cap off their comeback campaign.

But having conceded at least one goal in each of their previous eight away games in all competitions, Leeds are likely to struggle to keep Manchester City at bay.

Leeds have scored more goals than four sides above them in the table, but only four teams have a poorer defensive record in the Premier League.

Still, Leeds are currently enjoying a three-match unbeaten streak and have won each of their last two outings.

Head-to-head: Leeds managed to hold Man City to a 1-1 draw at Elland Road in the reverse fixture back in October.

In fact, the two sides have only faced each other twice since 2004, with Man City claiming a 2-1 FA Cup win back in 2013.

Team news: Manchester City have no injury concerns heading into Saturday’s clash, although Guardiola is likely to make changes following the midweek UCL tie.

On the other hand, Leeds will be without Jack Harrison and Adam Forshaw this weekend as both players recover from injury.

Leeds are likely to give Man City a run for their money on Saturday, but Guardiola’s men shouldn’t struggle to claim all three points.

Forebet predicts that Man City will score over 2.5 goals en route to beating Leeds, although both teams are expected to score.
