RB Leipzig Backed to Beat Gladbach
3032

RB Leipzig continued their push for the title thanks to a 3-0 away win over Hertha Berlin last weekend. Gladbach followed up last weekend’s 2-1 home defeat to Mainz with defeat in the 1st leg of their Champions League tie with Manchester City, meaning the club have now failed to win any of their last four matches.

While Gladbach enjoyed a 1-0 win over RB Leipzig when these teams locked horns in October for their reverse league fixture, it is Saturday’s hosts that have had the better of their guest sin recent seasons.

RB Leipzig have won four of their last six encounters with Gladbach, scoring exactly two goals against them in each of their last three meetings at the Red Bull Arena.

RB Leipzig have form in their favour, as well as the home advantage, this weekend, having won five of their last six matches in all competitions. Gladbach have only won one of their last six matches, drawing twice and lost on three occasions.

The visitors have conceded exactly two goals in three of their last four matches and RB Leipzig have scored at least two goals in four of their last five outings, which could point towards a possible final scoreline for this weekend’s clash.

The hosts have been in great form defensively of late, securing four clean sheets in their last six attempts, unlike Gladbach who have only managed to shut their opponents out in one of their last six fixtures.

RB Leipzig are still missing a natural goal scorer since Werner left for Chelsea, but the team have done really well to remain in the hunt for the title. Sabitzer top scores in the Bundesliga for the hosts this season with just 5-goals, so it is unlikely we will be treated to a goal-fest on Saturday.

Kevin Kampl, Emil Forsberg, Dominik Szoboszlai and Konrad Laimer could all miss this weekend’s match for the home side through injury, while Jonas Hofmann is the only Mönchengladbach player to have been officially ruled out of the trip to Leipzig as things stand.

Everything points towards a home win for the in-form RB Leipzig, who will be keen to get one over on Gladbach for October’s defeat.

The scoreline is likely to be close with no more than two goals between the sides and the hosts stand an excellent chance of keeping a clean sheet. Final score, 2-0 RB Leipzig.
