Osasuna claimed a 1-0 win away at in-form Levante last weekend and have had a full week to prepare for Monday night’s clash with Sevilla.
Sevilla ran out 1-0 winners in their last league game against Huesca but suffered a defeat in their midweek Europa League tie against Borussia Dortmund.
Sevilla have had the better of their recent encounters with Osasuna, picking up six wins from the pair’s last seven meetings in La Liga. Both teams have scored in five of those seven games and over 2.5 goals have been produced in five as well, which suggests that there are likely to be plenty of goals in Monday’s match.
Sevilla claimed a 1-0 win when the pair locked horns in November for their reverse league fixture and have won two of their last three trip to the Estadio El Sadar.
Osasuna have been in decent form of late, securing three wins, two draws and one defeat from their last six outings in league and cup. Sevilla have won five of their last six matches in all competitions though, and head into Monday’s clash as the form favourites.
Both teams have scored in three of Osasuna’s last six fixtures and Sevilla have scored two of more goals in five of their last seven outings.
The hosts look set to be without the services of Juan Cruz, Rubén García, Ruben Martinez, Facundo Roncaglia, Jony and Darko Brasanac for Monday’s match due to injury. Lucas Ariel Ocampos and Marcos Acuña missed the midweek Europa League game and are unlikely to feature on Monday, while Rakitic had to come off at half time against Dortmund and will face a late fitness test ahead of the trip to Osasuna.
Sevilla have outperformed Osasuna so far this season and even though the visitors have had less time to prepare for this game, a bet on an away win makes the most sense.
There is a good chance that both teams will score and over 2.5 goals will be produced in Monday’s match as Sevilla have been in good goalscoring form of late.
