Tottenham Hotspur to end losing streak versus West Brom
2875

Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur may be at their lowest point since the manager took charge over a year ago. Spurs are on a three-match losing streak in the league as Liverpool, Brighton and Chelsea all grab victories.

Now, Tottenham host second from bottom West Brom in a must-win game on matchday 23. Spurs sit in eighth place and seven points off of the top four. Five points are between Tottenham and the top five as it stands and any more dropped points could see them miss out on European qualification.

West Brom are 19th and on 12 points after 22 games. The Baggies are on a four-game winless streak in the league. In midweek, they lost 2-1 to Sheffield United.

Sam Allardyce’s team took just four points from the last 18 on offer. They conceded 15 goals to opponents during those six matches.

Tottenham did little better over the course of their last six games. They took just seven points from 18 on offer and lost their last three games in a row. Spurs scored just once during that three-game losing run.

Harry Kane could miss out once more for Tottenham due to a double ankle injury. The striker suffered the injury against Liverpool a week and a half ago. According to reports, he is making good progress but Sunday’s game could be too earlier for a return.

Giovani Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilon are both still ruled out. Lo Celso isn’t expected back until March. His injury prevented the club from loaning Dele Alli to Paris Saint-Germain. Alli is currently ruled out as well according to reports. It seems to be due to his failed move away from Mourinho.

Allardyce has just one injury issue going into the weekend. Grady Diangana is a doubt to appear due to a muscle injury. The manager could have January loan signing Okay Yokuslu available after he was cleared to play this weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur’s defence has been giving up goals to opponents while the attack has struggled. Mourinho once again parked the bus versus Chelsea, just like he did versus Liverpool. At home to West Brom, he should deploy Spurs to attack and get goals.

Spurs should have no issue winning for the second time versus West Brom this season. Last time, they needed a late goal from Kane to win 1-0. This time around, Spurs should win in a more commanding way.
