On Tuesday evening, Championship leaders Norwich travel to midtable Millwall, as the Canaries look to strengthen their position at the top of the table.
Norwich have responded superbly this season to relegation from the Premier League, despite losing bright young defensive duo Jamaal Lewis and Ben Godfrey in the last transfer window.
Daniel Farke’s team are four points clear at the top of the table and six clear of third-place Brentford in the race for automatic promotion. A five-game unbeaten run in the second tier has certainly helped the Canaries maintain their healthy position in the league table.
However, a goalless draw against Middlesbrough last time out may have been considered a disappointing result for the team from Norfolk. The draw ended a three-game winning run in the Championship for Norwich.
The Canaries have been solid in defence of late in the Championship, conceding just one goal in their last four league outings. City’s recent away form has also been relatively good, as the visitors have won three of their last four league games on their travels in the second tier.
Millwall are right in the middle of the Championship table, eight points above the relegation zone and 11 points off the play-off spots. Gary Rowett’s team head into this clash on the back of just one win in their last seven league outings.
However, a 1-1 draw at Cardiff City last time out means that the Lions are unbeaten in three Championship matches, as Millwall have drawn several of their games in recent weeks.
The home side does not have a great recent record at the Den in the Championship, as they have failed to win in nine home matches. However, six of the nine winless games have finished all-square.
Forebet predicts that Norwich will consolidate their position at the top of the table by recording a victory in a high-scoring encounter.
