Spurs tipped to bounce back against Brighton
4941

Brighton & Hove Albion will be hoping to extend their mini unbeaten run when Tottenham Hotspur visit the Amex Stadium on Sunday.

The Seagulls are sitting seventeenth – just five points clear of brithe relegation zone. Meanwhile, Spurs are sixth – 15 points ahead of Brighton and four points outside the top four.

Following a nine-game winless run between November and January, Brighton head into Matchday 21 on a two-match unbeaten streak.

After beating Leeds United 1-0, Graham Potter’s men recorded a goalless draw with fellow strugglers Fulham on Wednesday.

Brighton registered 16 shots (5 on target) against the Cottagers last time out, yet they were unable to find a way through.

Looking at the bigger picture, Brighton have only managed to win six of their previous 38 Premier League outings.

However, the Seagulls have lost just one of their last six games in all competitions, including two FA Cup wins.

On the flip side, a four-game unbeaten run had put Tottenham right back in the title mix, but Liverpool ended their revival on Thursday.

Jose Mourinho’s side only managed three shots against the reigning champions, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg scoring Spurs’ only goal in a 3-1 loss.

Tottenham are now eight points behind league leaders Manchester City and level on 33 points with seventh-place Everton.

Still, Mourinho’s men can take confidence from the fact that they have only lost four of their last 32 games in all competitions.

It is also worth pointing out that Tottenham have scored over 1.5 goals in each of their previous three away games and have not been losing at half-time in any of their last 12.

Head-to-head: Spurs claimed a 2-1 home victory over Brighton back in November, meaning they have only lost one of their last eight meetings with the Seagulls.

Let’s not forget that Tottenham have scored exactly two goals in five of their previous eight games against Brighton.

Team news: Brighton are currently without Florin And one, Tariq Lamptey, Danny Welbeck, Alireza Jahanbaksh and Jose Izquiredo through injury.

Harry Kane is a doubt for Spurs after coming off at half-time against Liverpool. Giovani Lo Celso, Dele Alli and Sergio Reguilon are all injured.

Given the recent record of both these sides, Sunday’s game is likely to be a low-scoring affair with few clear-cut chances.

Forebet predicts that Tottenham will keep a clean sheet while scoring under 1.5 goals on their way to victory over Brighton.
