Leicester City to win to nil at home against Brighton
3657

Leicester City have won three of their last six Premier League matches against Brighton to nil. The Foxes go into the game on Sunday night seeking to keep pace with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in the title race.

Brendan Rodgers will hope his team can win to nil for a fourth time in seven games against Brighton. It won’t be easy after the Foxes played in midweek in the Europa League. Leicester City did claim a 2-0 win against AEK Athens on Thursday night.

Brighton head into the game in 16th place with 10 points from 33 this season. Graham Potter’s team continue to struggle to get goals and keep them out at the opposite end.

The Seagulls possess a –3-goal difference with 15 goals scored and 18 conceded. They are coming off of back-to-back games without a victory. Last Monday, Brighton lost 2-1 to Southampton at home.

Brighton’s saving grace could be Leicester City’s form at the King Power Stadium. They have lost three of their last four games at home in the league. Leicester City have taken six points from 15 possible at home, being outscored 8-6.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is in brilliant form heading into matchday 12. He has nine goals in 10 league matches and has accounted for 43% of Leicester City’s goals.

If Vardy cools off – as he did last season in the second half of the campaign – Leicester City are likely to fall away from the title race. For now, they are keeping pace with Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool; but will play after their title rivals do on Sunday.

Rodgers is without the services of Ricardo Pereira and Timothy Castagne. Both are recovering from injuries. Centre-back Caglar Soyuncu is also ruled out due to a long-term injury. James Maddison will undergo a late fitness test, but should make the squad for the team.

Potter will be without the services of Adam Lallana due to a groin issue. Alexis Mac Alister and Davy Propper are both to undergo late fitness tests. Mac Alister is recovering from a bout of COVID-19.

Leicester City are unbeaten in six straight league games against Brighton. Four of those games ended in wins and three of those fixtures were wins to nil.

The Foxes should claim another win to nil against a poor-scoring Brighton. Five of the last six games between the teams ended with under 2.5 goals scored and that trend should continue.
