Leicester City were handled easily by Liverpool last weekend in a game many Premier League experts believed they would win. Now, Brendan Rodgers’ team must dust themselves off of for the arrival of relegation-threatened Fulham.
The Cottagers head into matchday 10 in 18th place in the division with just four points from 27 possible. Fulham have lost back-to-back games in the league and sit one point off of 17th place and safety.
Leicester City are fourth in the league following last weekend’s loss to Liverpool. They have lost three of their last six games in the Premier League. The Foxes have tallied 18 goals while allowing 12 to opponents.
Fulham, on the other hand, have scored just nine goals while allowing 18 to opponents. They are joint leaders in goals conceded after 10 games in the league.
The Foxes may have lost to Liverpool last weekend, but snatched a 3-3 draw versus Braga in the Europa League on Thursday. Jamie Vardy’s fifth minute of second-half stoppage-time goal gave the Foxes a share of the spoils to stay on the path to Europa League last 32 progression.
Rodgers may need to rotate his team on Monday night when Fulham arrive at the King Power Stadium. Defensive injuries have taken their toll on the squad this season. Rodgers still has injuries in defence heading into matchday 10.
Ricardo Pereria is on the sidelines and unlikely to play. Centre-back Caglar Soyuncu is ruled out of the game as is Wilfred Ndidi. Daniel Amartey is also set to miss the game. Rodgers could have full-back Timothy Castagne back from a thigh strain.
Fulham manager Scott Parker will be without Kenny Tete, Terence Kongolo, and Josh Onomah. Parker is also without the suspended Aboubaker Kamara.
According to leading sportsbooks, Parker is the league’s fourth favourite manager to be sacked next. He is 4/1 to be dismissed according to sportsbooks heading into matchday 10. Could a loss see him sacked by Fulham’s hierarchy?
