At the beginning of the Ligue One season, many people were talking about the exciting Rennes team after they qualified for the Champions League. Julien Stephen’s team also started the current league campaign in fine form.

In truth, the home sides recent form has not been great after that aforementioned fine start to the new campaign. A record of just one win in five Ligue One games is not a great one. Last time out Rennes suffered a 3-0 defeat at reigning champions PSG. The defeat means that the home team have lost two of their last three league outings.
There has been no shortage of goals in Rennes games of late, as eight of their last nine Ligue One matches have produced over 2.5 goals.
Rennes have been strong on home soil of late in the French top-flight, winning six of their last nine leagues matches at Roazhon Park.
Bordeaux are enjoying a highly inconsistent Ligue One campaign. The visitors are 12th place in French top-flight table after picking up just 12 points from their opening ten games of the Ligue One season.
A 2-0 home defeat last time out against Montpellier means that the visitors have lost three of their previous four league games. They have also been conceding a lot of goals, as the visitors have conceded at least two goals in all three of those recent losses.
Bordeaux’s recent away form has not been great either, as they have won just once in six league games on their travels. To make matters worse they have suffered three straight away defeats, conceding at least two goals in each defeat.
