Can Burnley end their winless run against Tottenham?
3010

Burnley are still searching for their first Premier League win of the season as Tottenham Hotspur prepare to visit Turf Moor on Monday night.

Sean Dyche’s side have only managed to pick up one point from their opening four games this term, leaving them just inside the bottom three.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have lost just one of their five league games and find themselves seventh on eight points.

Burnley could hardly have dreamed of a poorer start to the 2020/21 campaign. The Clarets suffered three straight defeats before finally claiming their first point last weekend.

After losing to Leicester (4-2), Southampton (1-0) and Newcastle (3-1), Dyche’s men claimed a goalless draw against West Brom last time out.

Unsurprisingly, Burnley are the second-lowest scorers in the division. The Clarets have also failed to score in their last three home games in all competitions.

Looking at the bigger picture, Burnley have only managed to win one of their previous eight outings in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Tottenham lost to Everton (1-0) on the opening day, before bouncing back with a 5-2 thrashing of Southampton.

Newcastle held Spurs to a 1-1 draw on Matchday 3, before Jose Mourinho’s men crushed Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford.

Tottenham appeared to be heading for another comfortable victory last weekend, but after racing into a 3-0 lead at the London Stadium, West Ham scored three late goals to snatch a draw.

Spurs have only lost three of their last 22 games in all competitions, but the team's inability to hold onto wins will no doubt frustrate Mourinho.

Tottenham are unbeaten in their last nine games in all competitions, although Sunday’s draw with West Ham will feel like a defeat.

Harry Kane – 5 goals, 7 assists – and Son Heung-min – 7 goals, 2 assists – have already notched up 21 goal involvements between them in just five league games this term.

Head-to-head: Tottenham have only suffered one defeat in their last 14 meetings with Burnley – a run that stretches back to 2009.

Spurs thrashed Burnley 5-0 last season, meaning they have kept a clean sheet in four of their last six away league games against the Clarets.

Team news: Jack Cork and Ben Mee are both sidelined for Burnley, while Erik Pieters, Phil Bardsley and Matt Lowton will be assessed before Monday.

Japhet Tanganga is Tottenham’s only absentee, with Eric Dier expected to come back into this side after missing the tip to West Ham.

When you couple Burnley’s poor start to the season with their dreadful record against Tottenham, all the signs point towards a Spurs win on Monday.

Forebet predicts that Tottenham will once again keep a clean sheet against Burnley while scoring over 2.5 goals on their way to victory.
