Celtic suffered a 2-0 defeat in the Old Firm derby at the weekend and now face another tricky home game against Italian giants, AC Milan.

While Milan aren’t the team they once used to be, this season they have look more like their old selves. Celtic have met AC Milan on eight previous occasions but have only claimed one win during that period.

The Scottish side sit 2nd in the Premiership behind arch-rivals Rangers. Four of Celtic’s last five matches have produced under 2.5 goals, but Thursday’s hosts have only failed to score in one of those six outings. Celtic lost 2-0 at home at the weekend, while AC Milan claimed a 2-1 win in the Milan Derby.

AC Milan have made a 100% start to the new Serie A season, winning four out of four in Italy’s top-flight. The Italians are unbeaten in their four away games in all competitions, winning three times and drawing once. AC have scored in each of their seven matches so far this season and look confident going forward.

The Italian giants have never won the Europa League before but are 7-time winners of the Champions League and will be one of the favourites to claim this trophy.

AC Milan have claimed five wins from their eight matches against Celtic, winning each of the duo’s last three encounters. Under 2.5 goals have been scored in four of the last six meetings between the pair, with AC keeping five clean sheets during that period. AC Milan have also kept clean sheets in three of their four league games this season.

The visitors could be without Matteo Gabbia and Leo Durate due to a virus, while Ante Rebic and Mateo Musacchio are both injured and expected back later this month.

Celtic won’t have Ryan Christie, Nir Bitton, or Hatem Elhamed as they are in self-isolation. James Forrest and Michael Johnston are expected to return from injury in November.

AC Milan have looked excellent so far this season and have been very strong on the road.

Form favours the visitors on Thursday, as do the history books, and Forebet is backing a narrow win for AC Milan.
