On Saturday night, two teams who have made highly inconsistent starts to their Bundesliga campaign Monchengladbach and Wolfsburg meet at Borussia Park.
Monchengladbach have made a slow start compared to last season’s excellent campaign. Marco Rose’s team could not have enjoyed a more inconsistent campaign this season, as they have lost against Dortmund, drawn with Union Berlin and last time out won 3-1 at Koln.
They will be hoping that the victory last time out will lead to a positive run of form.
The home sides most recent games have certainly offered entertainment when it comes to goals scored, as there have been over 2.5 goals scored in seven of their previous nine Bundesliga matches.
Gladbach have been in good form of late on home soil, having won four of their previous six matches in the Bundesliga. The home team has also scored in their previous 17 home games in the German top-flight.
Wolfsburg have made a decidedly underwhelming start to their Bundesliga campaign, having drawn all three of their league matches so far against Bayer Leverkusen, Freiburg and Augsburg.
All three of the draws have been low-scoring, producing under 2.5 goals. They broke a high-scoring trend for the Wolves from last season when their games tended to be relatively high-scoring.
A lack of goals has certainly been a factor in those low-scoring matches of late in the Bundesliga, as the visitors scored just one goal in their previous four league matches dating back to last season.
The Wolves were something of away-day specialists towards the end of last season, as they head into this clash with a record of six wins from their previous nine league matches on their travels.
Forebet predicts that Monchengladbach will record a victory in a low-scoring clash to build on their victory last time out.
