The English Premier League continues this weekend and on Sunday afternoon we have a London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United. The game will be played at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium and the hosts come into the match with 7 points to their name, with the visitors just one point behind them in the table.

Tottenham Hotspur fans would have been cursing the international break as their team found some form. Their most recent fixture ended in a fantastic 6-1 victory at Manchester United. Despite finding themselves at goal behind in only the second minute of the game, Spurs fought back and scored the equaliser just 2 minutes later.

What followed was an incredible series of events as Spurs went on to score 5 further goals without reply. They were 4-1 up at half time and took full advantage of playing against ten men for much of the game.

That victory would have been a boost to the morale following the disappointing 1-1 home draw against Newcastle United. A controversial penalty in the 90th minute handed Newcastle a point they did not deserve. Prior to that draw in the Premier League, Spurs delivered another excellent away performance to defeat Southampton 5-2.

Trends show Spurs are on an unbeaten run of 7 games in all competitions and both teams have scored in each of those matches. However, they have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last 9 games in all competitions.

West Ham United signed off for the international break with a tremendous 3-0 win at Leicester City. The Hammers went into the match as the outsiders but delivered an excellent performance, scoring two goals in the first half and adding a third in the second. It was their second successive victory in the Premier League following the 4-0 home win against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

West Ham appear to have clicked into gear having struggled in the opening Premier League games of the season. They started with a 2-0 defeat at home against Newcastle United and then lost 2-1 at Arsenal.

Trends show West Ham have one only 2 of their last 12 away matches in the Premier League. However, their last 6 games in all competitions have each been high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored.

Looking ahead to the team news and Tottenham Hotspur will be without defender Eric Dier due to a hamstring injury. Giovani Lo Celso and Japhet Tanganga are the only other doubts for the hosts.

West Ham United could be without full-back Ryan Fredericks who is hoping to recover from a thigh injury. West Ham have close to a fully fit squad for this game.

Both teams will be going into this match full of confidence following their previous result. West Ham have shown they have the ability to score goals and should find the back of the net in this game. However, Spurs have been in great form themselves and should have enough to win this match with both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals.
