Aston Villa and Liverpool will both be aiming to maintain their 100% records when the two sides clash in the Premier League at Villa Park on Sunday.

Villa have won each of their opening two games this term, while Liverpool have played three and won three so far in 2020/21.

Dean Smith’s side faced a tough test against Sheffield United on the opening day, but Ezri Konsa’s second-half goal was enough to earn Villa all three points.

After recently signing from Arsenal, Emiliano Martinez saved a penalty on his Villa debut to help his new club claim the win.

Last time out, Jack Grealish, Conor Hourihane and Tyrone Mings all got on the scoresheet as Villa crushed newly-promoted Fulham 3-0.

The Villains have kept two clean sheets and are the only side yet to conceded a goal in the Premier League this season.

In fact, Villa have now kept four clean sheets in their previous six league games. But the visit of Liverpool is likely to make it very difficult to extend that run.

Having clinched the Premier League title last term, Liverpool haven’t put a foot wrong this season. The Reds have won each of their three opening games.

After edging Leeds 4-3 in an opening-day thriller, Jurgen Klopp’s side cruised past Chelsea 2-0 on Matchday 2.

Despite Arsenal offering some resistance last time out, Liverpool eventually beat the Gunners 3-1 to extend their winning start to the campaign.

Alexandre Lacazette put Arsenal ahead, but quickfire goals from Sadio Mane and Andrew Robertson swiftly put the Reds on top.

With a few minutes remaining, Diogo Jota came off the bench to score on his Premier League debut for Liverpool and cap off the win.

Head-to-head: Liverpool claimed two victories over Villa last season, winning 2-1 away before clincing a 2-0 victory on home soil.

Aston Villa actually beat Liverpool 5-0 in the EFL Cup last term, but it’s important to remember that the Reds’ first-team squad was away at the Club World Cup.

Team news: Tom Heaton, Bjorn Engels and Wesley remain long-term absentees for Villa. Ross Barkley could make his debut the weekend after joining on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

Liverpool will be without new signing Thiago this weekend. The Spaniard tested positive for coronavirus earlier in the week, joining Joel Matip, Kostas Tsmimikas, Jordan Henderson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the sidelines.

Aston Vilal have started the season brightly, but there is no denying that Liverpool should extend their 100% record with another win on Sunday.

Forebet predicts that Liverpool will score over 1.5 goals and keep a clean sheet on their way to victory over Villa.
