Liverpool move closer to a Premier League points record?
4886

Liverpool need eight points from their next nine available to finish with a Premier League record of 101 points. The Reds slipped up at home over the weekend conceding a late goal against Burnley.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have struggled to keep up the intensity they showcased prior to winning the title. Now, with eight points needed to achieve the Premier League record for points, Klopp needs his players to focus to get the best out of the squad.

Arsenal are coming off of a 2-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur. They fell to defeat in a complete snatch and grab. Arsenal outplayed Spurs but thanks to terrible defending from Shkodran Mustafi and David Luiz, fell to defeat.

If Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta doesn’t get his defence sorted out, Liverpool will run riot at the Emirates. The Gunners could still finish sixth but need to get winning and hope teams around the drop points in their final three games.

Part of Liverpool’s struggle against Burnley came due to captain Jordan Henderson being out with a knee injury. He will sit out the remainder of the season and Liverpool will miss his leadership.

The clubs have met twice already this season in league and cup matches. The Reds won 3-1 at Anfield in the Premier League with little trouble thanks to goals from Joel Matip and two from Mohamed Salah. Lucas Torreira pulled back a late goal for the Gunners.

Their second meeting was an epic game in the Carabao Cup. Liverpool won on penalties after the clubs played out a thrilling 5-5 draw. Divock Origi’s incredible 90th minute goal forced the extra-time period.

Liverpool are unbeaten in 10 straight games in all competitions against Arsenal. The last time Arsenal won against Liverpool was in the 2014-15 season. The Gunners claimed the win at the Emirates, but since then, the Reds are unbeaten in four straight matches in London.

Arsenal are unbeaten in six straight games at the Emirates. They won four of those six games. Arteta will be without Bernd Leno, Gabriel Martinelli, Matteo Guendouzi, and Pablo Mari for the game.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have Matip and Henderson both ruled out through long-term health issues. James Miler is a doubt at the moment due to a thigh strain.

The Reds won on their last trip away from home to end a three-game winless streak on their travels. Can the Reds keep winning and move closer to the Premier League’s points total record?
