Draw to dent Forest and Fulham’s hopes of promotion
3297

On Tuesday afternoon, Nottingham Forest and Fulham go head-to-head at the City Ground, in a game that could be crucial to both teams hopes of landing automatic promotion to the Premier League.

With just five Championship games remaining, time is running out for either team to mount a challenge for the top-two. The visitors are seven points behind second-place West Brom, while Forest are two points further off the promotion spots. However, both will look to pick up some momentum with the prospects of the play-offs looming.

A four-game unbeaten run in the Championship has kept the Tricky Trees in a good position to finish in the play-off spots, even if the top-two and automatic promotion is out of their reach this season.

A 1-1 draw against Midlands rivals Derby County last time out slightly dented their chances of breaking into the leagues top-two.

A patchy recent home record in the second tier has hampered the home sides chances of success. They have won their last two games on home soil against Huddersfield and Bristol City. However, they had failed to win in their previous three league matches at the City Ground, suffering two defeats in the process.

The visitors have managed to recover from a dip in form to record two straight victories against QPR and Birmingham. It looks to be too little too late in the race for automatic promotion for the Cottagers though.

The Cottagers have struggled for wins away from home in the Championship of late, as a 2-1 victory at QPR in their last match ended a four-game winless run on their travels in the second tier.

The visitors have a good recent record against Forest, having won three of the last four meetings with the team from the Midlands.

Forebet predicts that this game will end in a high-scoring and entertaining draw, which could prove fatal to both sides chances of landing an automatic promotion spot this season.
