Mid-table Slavia Mozyr are currently enjoying a reasonable campaign in the Belarus top flight as they occupy 8th place and are unbeaten in their last two matches in the Vysshaya Liga as they prepare for this upcoming clash with Neman Grodno.
Following a 2-0 defeat away from home at Shakhtyor Soligorsk, Slavia have responded in positive fashion by gaining a point in a 1-1 draw at home with Gorodeya which was followed by a valuable 3-2 win away from home at Belshina last weekend.
Overall results have produced a mixed return though for Slavia who quite rightly sit in a mid-table position as results have been inconsistent, but the hosts have been difficult to shift on home turf at their Stadyen Junatsva this season.
One win, one defeat and three draws have been the outcomes to date at home with their one highlight so far this term being a 2-1 win over BATE, but goals have been thin on the ground as 3 of their 5 home matches have seen under 2.5 goals.
Onto Neman Grodno and the visitors will also be quietly confident that they can extend their winning streak to three matches this Saturday when they travel to Slavia Mozyr, having collected back-to-back wins in the Vysshaya Liga in recent weeks.
Victories over Torpedo Zhodino 3-1 at home was followed up with an impressive 2-0 win away from home at Gorodeya which has helped lift Neman Grodno away from the lower reaches of the Vysshaya Liga and up into a more respectable 10th place.
However, the majority of Neman Grodno’s success this season has been achieved on home turf at their Stadion Neman where they’ve captured 3 of their total of 4 wins to date this term, while their form on the road has been less convincing.
The recent win at Gorodeya was their first win of the season away from home but they’d previously stumbled to losses at Isloch Minsk 1-0, Dinamo Minsk 2-0 and a 3-1 loss at BATE, while also picking up a point in a 0-0 draw with Shakhtyor Soligorsk.
Neman Grodno have won just one of heir last seven away matches in the Belarus top flight but their last visit to Slavia back in October of last year ended up with the visitors winning 1-0, while 4 of their 5 away matches this season have been under 2.5 goals.
Goals are expected to be scarce in this clash between two teams who have struggled to hit the back of the net so far this season.
