Can RB Leipzig get back to winning ways versus Mainz?

RB Leipzig’s Bundesliga title hopes took a major hit on matchday 26 versus Freiburg. The club could only manage a 1-1 draw versus Freiburg at home. The Red Bulls have drawn three straight matches in the league and now sit seven points behind Bayern Munich.

Mainz are coming off of a hard-fought 2-2 draw versus Koln a week ago. The club were down 2-0 before mounting an incredible two-goal comeback to gain a draw.

Coach Achim Beierlorzer has watched his Mainz team go unbeaten in three straight games picking up five points from their last nine possible. Just four points separate Mainz from the relegation playoff place and a loss to RB Leipzig could take them closer to 16th-place Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Julian Nagelsmann’s RB Leipzig team have the league’s second-best away points total (25). They have conceded the second-fewest goals on the road with just 13 allowed. Nagelsmann’s team have scored 30 times away from home, but star striker Timo Werner is struggling for form.
