On Saturday morning, Sangju Sangmu host Gangwon at the Chuncheon Songam Stadium, as the visitors look to make it two wins out of two games in the new K-League campaign.
Sangju Sangmu kicked off the new K-League campaign with a 4-0 defeat at Ulsan Hyundai. The defeat carried on the home sides inconsistent league form from last season. However, they have won five of their last eight matches in the South Korean top-flight. Although Sangju Sangmu’s recent league games have not always been high-scoring, both teams have scored in 13 of their last 16 outings in the Bundesliga.
The home side at least has a decent recent home record in the K-League, winning three of their last four matches on home soil. They have been prolific at the Chuncheon Songam Stadium of late in the K-League too, scoring at least twice in seven of their last nine home matches. Their big attacking threat has led to over 2.5 goals scored in six of their last eight matches on home soil in the K-League.
Gangwon put a poor end of last season behind them to kick-off the new K-League campaign with a 3-1 victory over FC Seoul on Saturday morning. The win ended a run of one win in nine league games for the visitors and a winless streak of four league matches.
One trend that continued from last season in the K-League for Gangwon is high-scoring league games, as there have been over 2.5 goals scored in six of their last seven matches in the top-flight.
A negative for the visitors heading into this clash is that they have failed to win in ten league games in the South Korean top-flight, suffering defeat in six of their last seven matches on the road.
