Arsenal can extend their unbeaten Premier League run when West Ham visit the Emirates on Saturday, but the Hammers will be out to cause an upset as they continue to battle against relegation.

The Gunners have only lost one of their 12 games in all competitions since the turn of the year. Mikel Arteta’s side were knocked out of the Europa League by Olympiacos last week but bounced back with a comfortable 2-0 FA Cup win over League One club Portsmouth on Monday.

In the Premier League, Arsenal beat Everton 3-2 last time out to maintain their solid start to 2020. The Gunners have won three and drawn four of their seven league games this year.

However, Arteta’s men are still stuck in mid-table. With just 11 games remaining this season, Arsenal are 10th – ten points clear of the relegation zone and eight points off the top four.

There’s no denying that Arsenal have turned a corner under Mikel Arteta, but there is still a lot of work to be done before they can start to compete with the country’s top clubs once again.

While Arsenal are looking to move closer to the European places, West Ham’s sole aim is to steer clear of the relegation zone and secure Premier League safety.

David Moyes’ side are one of three teams locked on 27 points, but their superior goal difference means they are 16th – ahead of Watford and Bournemouth. Aston Villa are a further two points behind, while the gap between the Hammers and bottom club Norwich is six points.

West Ham’s performances have improved drastically in recent weeks. Moyes’ men pushed Liverpool all the way a fortnight ago and were extremely unfortunate to lose 3-2 at Anfield.

But the Hammers carried their eye-catching form into their game against Southampton last weekend and were rewarded with an impressive 3-1 victory.

New signing Jarrod Bowen scored his first goal for the club against Saints, while Sebastien Haller and Michail Antonio also got on the scoresheet. It’s vital that West Ham’s forward players continue to chip in consistently as the club aims to beat the drop.

Having said that, West Ham have lost each of their last five away league games, while Arsenal are unbeaten in their previous seven top-flight matches at home.

Arsenal will be without Calum Chambers, Sead Kolasinac, and Lucas Torreira this weekend. But Kieran Tierney is close to returning from a long-term injury.

Jack Wilshire, Tomas Soucek, and Ryan Fredericks are all currently sidelined for West Ham. But Andriy Yarmolenko could feature on Saturday after playing in a recent practice match.

West Ham’s upturn in form will see them cause Arsenal some problems, but the Gunners’ unbeaten Premier League run looks set to continue this weekend.

Forebet predicts that Arsenal will edge West Ham in what should be a tight game. Both teams are likely to score, but the Gunners are expected to come away with all three points.
