QPR and Birmingham to both score in entertaining clash
QPR vs Birmingham City - 29/02/2020

QPR extended their unbeaten run in the Championship to 4 matches during the week when The R’s recorded a 2-1 home win against Derby County which has helped Saturday’s hosts up into 13th place on the Championship ladder.
That impressive result against Derby followed on from points gained in draws with Swansea City and Nottingham Forest as well as a 4-2 home win over Stoke City.
This recent upturn in fortunes will give Mark Warburton’s side a timely boost ahead of the visit of a resurgent Birmingham City outfit.
QPR’s form and results on home turf at Loftus Road have also seen a significant improvement as the hosts have won 4 of their last 5 matches which includes earlier wins against Cardiff City 6-1 and a 1-0 victory over 2nd placed Leeds United.
However, QPR still remain one of the most inconsistent sides in the Championship so it’s perhaps best to steer away from the straight win markets, but goals should feature in this clash especially as it’s at Loftus Road where 13 of QPR’s 18 home matches have seen both teams score.
Birmingham City gained another point in a fairly mundane 0-0 draw away from home at Millwall on Wednesday night at The Den and although they had a seemingly perfectly good goal ruled out, The Blues also rode their luck at times as Millwall enjoyed the lion’s share of the possession throughout the match.
Nevertheless, that’s now 12 matches without defeat in all competitions and 9 matches unbeaten in the Championship, so the visitors will be in confident mood that they can get something out of this encounter in this second visit to the nation’s capital within just a few days.
Just 1 defeat out of their last 10 away matches include wins registered at Reading 3-2, Luton Town 2-1, Bristol City 3-1 and Barnsley 1-0 and with the strike pair of Jutkiewicz (13 goals) and Aston Villa loanee Hogan (4 goals from 6 matches) forging an impressive partnership up front, The Blues look a decent chance to score in this clash.
This encounter against QPR is expected to be a totally different game to that of the Millwall clash in midweek, not least because QPR have scored and conceded goals on a regular basis at home this term, so we should see both teams score as a result in perhaps a 1-1 draw.
