The last thing that struggling Paderborn need is a Friday night trip to reigning champions Bayern Munich. However, that’s the reality for the Bundesliga’s bottom team, who will be hoping to avoid a mauling in Munich.
Bayern Munich are back in their almost perennial position at the top of the Bundesliga table. However, Hansi Flick’s team are by no means comfortable at the top, with three teams looking very capable of challenging the Bavarians this season.

Paderborn have found life back in the German top-flight a major struggle after promotion from the second-tier last season. The visitors are bottom of the table but are just a point behind Fortuna Dusseldorf who are in the relegation play-off spot.
A poor recent run of form in the Bundesliga has not helped the visitors cause, as they have won just two of their last eight matches in the German top-flight while losing three of their last five league games.
Paderborn have been inconsistent on their travels in the Bundesliga of late, but have lost just once in their last five away games.
