Derby to grab the spoils over Huddersfield
2203

Although Derby County’s revival under manager, Philip Cocu, suffered a setback on Wednesday night when they were handed a 3-2 defeat away from home at Bristol City, Derby will nevertheless be confident that they can bounce back with a win at Pride park on Saturday.

Having won 5 of their last 8 matches overall in the Championship, this has been an impressive turnaround in form for The Rams following wins against Charlton Athletic, Barnsley, Hull City, Stoke City and Swansea City.

This has also helped lift the east midlands club away from any immediate danger of the relegation battle.

The hosts have also been in blistering form on home turf at Pride Park too as the hosts have racked up 4 wins on the trot and they now occupy the relative safety of a mid-table position of 13th place in the Championship and 13 points ahead of the bottom three.

With their Championship safety now almost certainly assured, Derby will be confident that they can rack up a fifth win on the trot here against Huddersfield.

Onto Huddersfield Town, and the visitors found themselves on the end of a heavy 3-0 defeat at home to Cardiff City at their John Smiths Stadium on Wednesday night and they now face a much trickier trip on Saturday to face an in-form Derby County outfit at Pride Park.

Recent results have been a mixed bag for Danny Cowley’s boys as they’ve gained wins against Hull City and QPR, but have also fallen to a previous defeat against high-flying Fulham which is no disgrace.

The Terriers still have a lot of work to do on the road though where they’ve managed just 4 wins to date, while recent weeks have seen the Yorkshire club win just 1 of their last 5 matches on their travels which was collected at Hull City in a 2-1 win.

The bigger picture shows that Huddersfield have picked up just 6 away wins out of their last 21 matches on the road in the Championship, while their record away from home at Derby County is a woeful one.

The visitors have failed to beat Derby in their previous 15 visits to the east midlands and look to have their work cut out to get a result against an in-form Derby side in their own backyard.
