Leicester to maintain winning run with victory over Brighton
3544

High-flying Leicester travel to Brighton on Saturday looking to retain second place in the Premier League table. Brendan Rodgers’ side have won their last four games and will head into Matchday 13 with a spring in their step.

Brighton come into this match having won three of their last five matches. Graham Potter’s men find themselves eleventh, with 15 points from their opening twelves games.

Recent victories over Tottenham, Everton and Norwich have dragged Brighton up into mid-table. The Seagulls made a shaky start to the season, but seem to have picked up some consistency over the last month.

Forwards Neal Maupay and Aaron Connolly have developed a promising relationship. Maupay is the club’s top scorer in 2019/20 with four goals in 12 top-appearances, while Connolly’s two goals and one assist have aided his side’s recent resurgence.

However, Brighton have conceded more goals than they would’ve liked. Despite scoring 15, they sit on a goal difference of –2 having conceded 17 league goals this term.

In contrast, Leicester boast the second-best goal difference in the division. They have conceded the fewest goals in the league (8), while netting 29. Only Manchester City have scored more goals than Rodgers’ side this season.

Leicester’s remarkable run has coincided with a return to form for Jamie Vardy. The striker is the league’s top scorer with 11 goals, and he is averaging a goal every 98 minutes in the Premier League this season.

James Maddison has also been in fine form. The 22-year-old has netted four goals in his last six league appearances, and will be full of confidence after making his England debut during the international break.

With Harvey Barnes, Ayoze Perez and Youri Tielemans joining Maddison in Leicester’s heavily creative midfield, the Foxes are certainly a force to be reckoned with this season.

Leicester have beaten Brighton in three of their last four meetings, with the other match ending in a draw. They have scored two goals or more in each of their last three victories over the Seagulls and this trend looks set to continue on Saturday.

Brighton have started to pick up some decent results, but Leicester have been in remarkable form recently. The Foxes should have too much quality for Potter’s men.

Forebet predicts that Leicester will claim a convincing win. Both teams are likely to score, but the away side looks set to net over 2.5 goals on their way to victory.
