Little to separate Bournemouth and Wolves
5236

Bournemouth and Wolves are locked on 16 points heading into their clash on Saturday. The Cherries find themselves sitting ninth in table, while Nuno Espirito Santo’s team are one place above with a superior goal difference.

The south coast side made an impressive start to the 2019/20, but their form has tailed off in recent weeks. Eddie Howe’s men have only managed to pick up one win in their last six league games, but their strong start means they haven’t slipped too far down the table.

Bournemouth were beaten 2-1 by Newcastle in their previous match. Harry Wilson gave the Cherries the lead at St. James’ Park, but despite registering 16 shots, they failed to hold onto their lead.

On the other hand, Wolves beat Aston Villa 2-1 last time out. Ruben Neves scored a trademark long-range strike, while Raul Jimenez also got on the scoresheet to extend his red-hot form in front of goal. The Mexican striker has netted five goals and registered two assists in 12 league games this term.

Wolves are unbeaten in their last seven league games. Unlike Bournemouth, Wolves started the season poorly. However, Nuno’s men have recently rediscovered some form, and have been picking up some impressive results.

A 2-0 win over reigning-champions Manchester City was followed up by three consecutive 1-1 draws, but victory over rivals Aston Villa last time out has put Wolves in a strong position.

Wolves will be hoping that Morgan Gibbs-White and Adama Traore will both be fit to face Bournemouth this weekend. Still, Willy Boly remains a long-term absentee.

The good news for Bournemouth is that Jefferson Lerma will be available for selection following his ban. However, the Cherries have a length injury list, with key men David Brooks, Andrew Surman, Charlie Daniels and Junio Stanislas all ruled out.

Wolves were unbeaten against Bournemouth in the Premier League last season. They secured a 2-0 win at Molineux before picking up a point in the reverse fixture.

Eddie Howe’s team are extremely difficult to beat at the Vitality Stadium and Bournemouth have only suffered one loss in their last seven meetings with Wolves.

Bournemouth and Wolves are fairly evenly matched at the moment, so the points are likely to be shared this time around. Both teams have scored in seven of their last eight meetings, so a low-scoring draw seems like the most probable outcome.

Forebet predicts that this will be a tight affair. Neither side will want to lose this match, so both teams will be happy to settle for a point.
