Blackburn to grab the points against poor Barnsley
Blackburn Rovers vs Barnsley - 23/11/2019

Blackburn Rovers headed into the recent international break on the back of 3 defeats from their last 4 matches in the Championship but they’ll be confident that they can bounce back this Saturday when they entertain bottom club, Barnsley, at Ewood Park.
Of course, 3 away matches from their last 4 overall in the second tier hasn’t helped Blackburn either as Rovers slumped to defeats at Birmingham City, Preston North End and Leeds United.
But when they did get back to their more familiar surroundings of Ewood Park, Blackburn registered a 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday which was a solid result for Tony Mowbray’s side.

Nevertheless, the recent spate of defeats has now left Blackburn in a disappointing 18th place on the Championship ladder, so they’ll no doubt be eager to get back to Ewood Park for this upcoming clash against Barnsley where they’ve suffered just 1 defeat out of their last 7 matches, which includes wins over Middlesbrough, Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday.
Onto Barnsley, and the visitors sit rock-bottom of the Championship and 5 points adrift of fourth from bottom side, Luton Town and safety prior to this difficult looking trip to Lancashire to face Blackburn Rovers.
The euphoria of promotion at the end of last season from League One now seems a distant memory as Barnsley have struggled to come to terms with the step up in quality, and this has already resulted in a managerial casualty in the shape of former boss, Daniel Stendel, being shown the door after a poor start to the campaign.
Caretaker-manager Adam Murray has been charged with steadying the ship but with Barnsley now without a win from their last 15 matches, the club expect to make a new appointment soon with Austrian side, Wolfsberger manager, Gerhard Struber, looking likely to take over at Oakwell.
Since their opening day 1-0 win over Fulham, The Tykes have spiralled out of control and have gained just a further 6 points from these subsequent 15 matches, while they still wait for their first away win of the season having lost 5 of their 7 matches on their travels to date this season.
Therefore, Blackburn Rovers won’t get a better opportunity to return to winning ways than this Saturday against a poor-travelling Barnsley outfit who have failed to win any of their last 14 away matches in the Championship.
